The No. 1 tight end in the class of 2022 is down to five schools, including Alabama.

Jaleel Skinner named the Crimson Tide in his final five on Wednesday. Clemson, Florida State, Miami and Texas are also in the group.

Out of Greer (South Carolina), Skinner is listed at 6-5, 210 pounds. He is rated 4-stars, the No. 1 tight end and No. 78 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2022 on the 247Sports Composite. Skinner visited Alabama on June 18.

Andrew Ivins of 247Sports notes of Skinner:

Has spent majority of prep career split out wide as a jumbo wide receiver. Viewed by most college staffs, however, as a flex tight end at the next level.

Skinner’s pass-catching skills are on display in his junior-season highlight tape, which can be viewed below via Hudl:

Skinner’s top five comes after naming his top 10 in May. Florida, LSU, Arizona State, Oklahoma and Oregon are the schools to get trimmed from Skinner’s top group.
