Former Alabama QB Jalen Hurts handled his final year with the Tide and his 1 year at Oklahoma with the utmost class.

As he prepares to be picked in the 2020 NFL Draft, he continues to be one of the classiest guys in all of sports.

On Wednesday, he did an interview with KHOU-TV and said he’ll always consider former coach Nick Saban a friend (via 247Sports):

“Nick Saban is a legendary guy, a stand-up guy,” Hurts said. “Just going to the University of Alabama, I decided to go there because there were a lot of similarities between me and him: the competitive nature, work ethic and drive we had to be successful and be dominant. That drove me to go there. To see the relationship that we have is still maintained is cool, to be a guy I always have there supporting me, he’ll always be a friend to me for sure.”

Clearly, Hurts learned a ton from Saban. It’s easy to see the influence Saban had on Hurts.

Now, we’ll see if Hurts can carry those lessons forward into the NFL. He’ll likely be a Day 2 pick in the draft, though he has gotten some first-round buzz in certain mock drafts lately.
