ESPN took “College GameDay” to State College for Saturday’s Michigan vs. Penn State showdown, but for many college football fans, the star of Saturday’s show was Jalen Hurts.

The Oklahoma quarterback sat down with ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi to reflect on his eventful college football career. Rinaldi asked Hurts how he would describe his college football journey.

“Unprecedented and unique,” Hurts said. “I think the rarity of this entire situation, the rarity of me being able to play and start for two prestigious universities – historically, probably two of the best in the country…” he tells Rinaldi in one segment.

That situation, of course, involved a quarterback who lost only two games and leading his team to multiple national championship games getting benched in favor of a true freshman.

“That doesn’t happen. It’s like a ’30 for 30.’ It’s like a movie,” Hurts said.

ESPN certainly appreciated the “30 for 30” plug and it’s easy to see the potential for a “What if I told you…” introduction to a docu feature on Hurts if the final chapter of his career leads to some special moments in December and January. Rinaldi hits on all the “unprecedented and unique” elements of Hurts’ story, including transferring to a program where the last two quarterbacks have won the Heisman Trophy. Hurts isn’t feeling any Heisman pressure.

“People talk about the pressure of doing that (winning the Heisman as a Sooners quarterback), but I started as a freshman for Coach Saban. Ain’t nobody ever done that. So, I’m alright,” Hurts says in the segment.
