Jalen Milroe discusses avoiding 'nervousness' following 2nd career start vs. MTSU
Jalen Milroe looked good in the 2nd start of his collegiate career against MTSU.
The 3rd year QB did something no other Alabama QB has done before on Saturday, rushing for 2 touchdowns and throwing 3 to lead Alabama past the Blue Raiders, 56-7.
On Monday, Milroe and a select group of Alabama players, as well as head coach Nick Saban, met with media to discuss Week 1’s win. Most interestingly, Milroe explained why he was not overtly nervous making his first start of the season.
To him, nervousness comes from a lack of preparation.

And as for his Week 1 performance, Milroe simply said “it was a start.”
And he’s right. There’s certainly room for improvement, but that goes for every football team and every collegiate player across the country. But there’s already some major steps that he has taken from his first start at against Texas A&M last year.
For example, Milroe protected the ball well. He also held some good composure in the pocket and knew when to use his speed to tuck and run. That should make any Alabama fan excited.
But, as always, we won’t know too much until the Tide face a worthy opponent. Thankfully, just that is on the docket for next week when the Tide take on No. 11 Texas in Tuscaloosa.
