Alabama lost one of its most important offensive pieces on Saturday during the game against against Arkansas when quarterback Bryce Young went down with an injury in the second quarter.

Backup signal-caller Jalen Milroe shared what exactly Young told him before he was called into action.

“The best advice was just to stay calm, cool and collected. Just fall back to your level of training,” Milroe said after the game. “Me and him have a great bond at practice. The biggest thing at practice is just I have a great quarterback in front of me, so just learn from him and take the things I’ve learned from Bryce and take it into that.”

Milroe did what was needed on his end to help the team come out with a 49-26 win one the road as he completed 4-of-9 passes for 65 yards with 1 touchdown, also putting up 91 rushing yards and 1 touchdown on 6 carries. That included a 77-yard run that helped propel Alabama’s success on the ground in a game that showed potential to end a good bit closer than it did.

Alabama will look to remain on the right side of the win column as it prepares to face Texas A&M on Saturday.
