Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was injured on the opening kickoff in the Alabama vs. Tennessee game.

Waddle, the Tide’s stop playmaker and receiver, immediately left the playing field and into the locker room without putting any weight on his ankle. Trainers helped the receiver close to the locker room, while a cart transported him into the locker room.

Waddle’s ankle was rolled up by a tackler on the opening kickoff.

Initially, CBS Sports Jamie Erdahl updated Waddle’s injury saying that he was questionable to return to the game with a lower leg injury. Later in the first quarter, Erdahl reported that Waddle would miss the rest of the game.

Waddle has caught 25 passes for 557 yards and 4 touchdowns through 4 weeks at Alabama.
