The Alabama, Clemson series has quickly developed into arguably the best non-conference rivalry in college football after four consecutive seasons of the two powers meeting on the field, but it isn’t just the fact that these two continue to meet that makes this series great, it’s the back and forth outcomes that have made the series all the more entertaining.

The first two national championship games between Alabama and Clemson were coin flip games that could have been won by either program but it was Alabama that made the defining plays in the first matchup and Clemson in the second. Despite coming away with a split in the series during his playing career, Washington defender Jonathan Allen admits he still loses sleep over the fact that the Tigers beat the Tide in his final collegiate game.

During his appearance at Washington’s first camp of the season, Allen was asked to reflect on last season’s team, which finished 7-9. Interestingly, it didn’t take Allen long to bring up his final Clemson game when discussing disappointment on the football field.

“We didn’t win the championship so anything besides that sucks,” Allen said in the clip below. “I think about it all the time, I still think about college when we lost to Clemson, almost every day.”

Allen was then asked if he really still thinks about the title game loss to Deshaun Watson-led Clemson.

“All the time. Hate Clemson,” he responded.
