Alabama fans knew that former Crimson Tide RB Josh Jacobs was leaving UA ready for the NFL. Through the first four weeks of Jacobs’ rookie season, he’s off to the best first-year start for a running back in his team’s history.

Jacobs has already rushed for 307 yards, the most for an Oakland Raiders rookie running back. The number bests fellow former SEC standout, Darren McFadden. The Arkansas great made his Raiders debut in 2008 and recorded 272 rushing yards in his first four games.

Jacobs had 17 carries for 79 yards in Oakland’s 31-24 Sunday win over the Indianapolis Colts. His best yardage performance of the young season came in Week 2 against Kansas City, a 12-carry, 99-yard performance. Jacobs’ two rushing touchdowns came in Week 1 when the Raiders faced Denver.
