Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin is well aware of a lot of traditions in college football, and that includes the legendary Alabama coach Paul “Bear” Bryant and his houndstooth collection.

Kiffin shared on Twitter that his pregame suit before the Alabama game was in honor of the “Bear.”

Ole Miss is coming off a big overtime win at Kentucky, and an upset of Alabama would be one of the biggest wins of the season, much less a career-defining win for Kiffin. Alabama, meanwhile, wants to keep things on track ahead of its showdown against Georgia next week.

The former Alabama offensive coordinator will need a big performance from his defense against a big-play Alabama offense led by QB Mac Jones and several dynamic receivers. However, that appears to be a tall order.

The Ole Miss offense has exceeded expectations, but the defense ranks last in the league in rushing and total yards allowed and points allowed. An offensive shootout may come, but the Tide attack faces a defense giving up 46 points and 600.5 yards a game. With Hurricane Delta bearing down on the region, and the game time being shifted to hopefully avoided much of the inclement weather, it could offer Alabama RB Najee Harris more room, although he’s already run for five touchdowns.
