Legendary coach Bobby Bowden weighs in on Alabama's QB battle: 'Nick can't go wrong'
The Alabama Crimson Tide face a tough task this offseason, as they’ll have to choose between Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts as their starting quarterback.
Everyone outside the program seems to have an opinion on who coach Nick Saban should choose, but on Friday, legendary Florida State coach Bobby Bowden weighed in in a different way.
As you can see in the video below, Bowden says Saban is facing a good problem, as it’s never bad to have to make a choice between two talented players. However, he did eventually say he’d go with Hurts as his starter:
Is #NickSaban the GOAT? Coach Bobby Bowden gives us his opinion and who he would pick at QB between @JalenHurts and @Tuaamann_ ! One things for sure, this 88-year-old can still play golf! @WBRCnews @AlabamaFTBL @FSUFootball @SamfordFootball pic.twitter.com/3MIfJ2xKLg

“What a great problem,” Bowden said. “One of them has won about 20 games and the other has won one. You know, Nick can’t go wrong on it. If I got a guy who won 20 ball games and I’ve got a guy who won one, I’m going with that guy who won 20. I’m going to play the odds.”
Will Saban agree with Bowden? Only time will tell, but at least both players are healthy heading into summer practices.
