Marcell Dareus, a former first-round NFL Draft pick out of Alabama, isn’t quite ready to hang up his cleats. Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh shared Saturday that Dareus is with the team for minicamp.

Dareus last saw NFL regular-season action in 2019 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags declined a contract option on Dareus in February 2020, making him a free agent.

The Buffalo Bills selected Dareus No. 3 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. Dareus was with the Bills into the 2017 season, when he was traded to Jacksonville in late October.

Dareus’ career highlights and honors include being named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team (2011), Pro Bowl (2013, 14) and first-team All-Pro (2014). Over his pro career, Dareus has played in 121 games, recording 365 tackles, including 37.5 sacks.

Dareus’ most productive seasons were with the Bills. His career-high in tackles (71) came in 2013. The following season, his All-Pro year, he recorded a career-best 10 sacks. In his final season in Jacksonville, Dareus went on injured reserve after undergoing core muscle surgery, limiting his participation to 6 games.
