Walter Payton was known for running hills as a conditioning drill. He’s not the only NFL legend to use this trick, but was known for it perhaps more than any other football player.

Let’s not make any comparisons, but former Alabama running back Najee Harris seems to be working on his conditioning after Steelers practice Wednesday afternoon.

Harris had as solid a rookie season as he could have for the Steelers in 2021 after 4 strong years at Alabama. There, he totaled 3,843 yards on the ground with 46 total touchdowns; an average of 6 yards per rush.

He wasn’t far off from that production in Year 1 in Pittsburgh. He started all 17 games, averaging 3.9 yards per carry with 1,200 yards rushing and 7 touchdowns.

This type of dedication can only be an indicator of good things to come for the former Crimson Tide back.
