Can anyone stop unbeaten and top-ranked Alabama in its quest for a second consecutive national championship and fifth during Nick Saban’s decade of dominance? One would have to look long and hard to find anybody who believes that team could be No. 4 Washington.

The Tide and the Huskies get together at 3 p.m. ET Saturday for a College Football Playoff semifinals game from the Peach Bowl in Atlanta.

Here are some predictions for the game from national media.

Saturday Down South: SDS’ Kevin Duffey typifies what the national media is predicting. It’s no contest, at least in the eyes of the media. Duffey gives Washington little chance to pull the upset.

Prediction: Alabama 39, Washington 14

Sports Illustrated: With a group of staff writers picking this game, not one went out on a limb. All seven who predicted the game went with the 14-point favorite.

Prediction: Alabama

FOX Sports: Staff writer Bruce Feldman doesn’t waver much from the rest. In a physical football game, Feldman believes the Tide will eventually wear down the Huskies and pull away for an easy victory.

Prediction: Alabama 27, Washington 10

ESPN: From the staff, Alex Scarborough has an opinion on the game. His doesn’t stray far from those of his colleagues. Scarborough sees a tight and tough game for much of three quarters. However, when all is said and done, it’s Alabama with the better talent coming through in the end.

Prediction: Alabama by double-digits

Bleacher Report: Featured columnist Greg Wallace is giving the Huskies even less chance than most. Looking for the silver lining in an otherwise dismal prediction for Washington, Wallace points out that the Huskies will do better than did Michigan State against Alabama in last season’s College Football Playoff semifinal, a 38-0 thrashing.

Prediction: Alabama 38, Washington 17

Athlon Sports: Falling in line, Steven Lassan cites a consistent Alabama team that he feels will take care of business, dispose of the Huskies, continue its unbeaten season and head to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

Prediction: Alabama 34, Washington 17

Sporting News: Three writers were unanimous in their prediction. They picked different final scores, but all chose the Crimson Tide by 14 points, which lands directly on the point spread.

Prediction: Alabama by 14

CBS SPORTS: Finally, some hope for Washington; sort of. Seven writers made their picks against the 14-point spread. Quite surprisingly, four writers — including Dennis Dodd and Jon Solomon — took Washington and the points. Only three writers — including Jerry Palm — took Alabama.
