Saivion Smith will have to find a new home in the NFL as the Dallas Cowboys recently announced they have released the former Alabama defensive back.

The decision came after Dallas was forced to release six players to make from for the franchise’s recent crop of draft picks and undrafted signees.

Smith left Alabama following his junior season in 2019.

Unfortunately, he went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft. During his debut season in the NFL last fall, Smith appeared in six games for the Cowboys. He made three tackles during that time.

He arrived in Tuscaloosa out of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community after being rated as a five-star prospect coming out of high school.

During his college career, he made 12 starts and appeared in a total of 15 games. He racked up 60 tackles, broke up five passes and forced a fumble during his college career.
