NFL Week 1: CBS to air showdown between former Crimson Tide stars in Alabama market
Usually, in the NFL broadcast world, the afternoon (Eastern) time slot is saved for the game of the week.
On Sunday, when the NFL season kicks off, CBS will air Kansas City-Cleveland as the game of the week. New England-Miami is also on during that time slot, and that would normally mean that only the New England and Miami local markets got to see that game.
However, on Sunday, there will be another market added to the Patriots-Dolphins showdown. Since former Alabama QBs Mac Jones and Tua Tagovailoa will play each other in that game, the state of Alabama will also get to watch that Week 1 matchup:

That’s a cool thing for CBS to do. Crimson Tide fans are sure to appreciate seeing 2 former Alabama stars in action at the NFL level.
