OL Landon Dickerson has been a huge part of Alabama’s success along the offensive line this year.

Thus, it was no surprise to see how affected Alabama players were when the star lineman had to be carted off the field on Saturday night in Atlanta with a knee injury.

It’s unclear how severe the injury is at this time, but coach Nick Saban weighed in on the injury in his postgame press conference, saying Dickerson would get an MRI on Sunday (via 247Sports):

“He has a knee injury,” Saban said. “We don’t know the extent of it. We’ll do an MRI tomorrow and find out. It’s pretty serious, I think, but we don’t know for sure how serious.”

Obviously, it’s never a good sign when you get carted off the field, so it’s unlikely at this point that Dickerson will be able to play in the College Football Playoff.

We’ll see what news the MRI brings, though.
