Florida State announced a home-and-home series with Alabama on Thursday. The Seminoles will host the Crimson Tide on Aug. 30, 2025, UA’s first time playing FSU in Tallahassee, Florida. Florida State will come to Tuscaloosa on Sept. 19, 2026.

With the series roughly six years out, no one knows if Nick Saban will be coaching Alabama come 2025, but Saban views the news as a positive for the Crimson Tide program. UA is on a bye in Week 10, so Saban did not stop by Baumhower’s in Tuscaloosa for “Hey Coach and The Nick Saban Show,” but the birthday boy did appear on the weekly radio show, sharing his reaction to the scheduling news via phone.

“We’d really like to get someone like them to almost have a year-to-year with us, if that makes sense,” Saban said, per Charlie Potter of 247Sports. “Almost try to create an out-of-conference rivalry with someone. It’s really good to play ACC schools because it’s regional.”

FSU and Alabama’s most recent meetings have come at neutral sites. Florida State had a 21-14 win in Jacksonville in 2007, a victory that was officially vacated due to NCAA violations. In 2017, the teams played in Week 1 and participated in the first collegiate game in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Alabama won 24-7.
