Nick Saban made comments earlier this spring about the Alabama roster not having any complainers, and that brought a question on Tuesday night about how he approaches the message to his team.

“I think it’s up to the players to buy into the principles and the values of the organization and the standard,” Saban said. “That’s what’s helped a lot of players have a chance to be successful in the past. I think that’s one of the reasons the players came to Alabama was to try to be the best version of themselves personally, academically and athletically. And sort of follow the principles and values that has established a culture that gives them the best opportunity to do that.”

About 2 weeks ago, Saban shared that without complainers, Alabama’s team this year is made up of players who do what they’re coached to do.

“They work hard,” he said. “We don’t have a lot of negative guys on this team, and we have some real positive leadership, which I think is always important. And hopefully, we can build on that and that’ll be something that’s an asset to this team.”
