The Alabama secondary lost key players like Xavier McKinney and Trevon Diggs to the NFL Draft this offseason, but there’s still plenty of talent on the back end of the Crimson Tide defense.

On Saturday, coach Nick Saban spoke about one of the team leaders on defense during a season preview radio show.

As you can see below, Saban had plenty of praise to offer CB Patrick Surtain II, who has the potential to be a top-10 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft:

Surtain had 42 tackles, 2 interceptions, 8 pass breakups, 3 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery during a productive 2019 season.

This year, he’ll be counted on to do even more. Saban thinks he’ll be up for the challenge.
