Alabama has rolled through most of its schedule, scoring 48.6 points per game, which is third most on the country. But last week against Mississippi State, the Crimson Tide barely reached half that average.

Because of a shutout from its defense, Alabama still won by three touchdowns, but coach Nick Saban says scoring only 24 points against a very stout Mississippi State defense got the full attention of his offense.

Alabama should score a lot more points this week since they play Citadel. Kickoff is at noon ET on Saturday.

Of course, the health of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could greatly impact how well the Alabama offense plays. The Heisman Trophy frontrunner left last week’s game against Mississippi State with a knee injury, but Saban has been insistent all week that he will play.

Essentially, facing Citadel is a warmup game for rival Auburn, who Alabama will host in the season finale. Then on Dec. 1, the Crimson Tide will face the Georgia Bulldogs for the second time at Mercedez Benz Stadium in 12 months — this time, with the SEC Championship on the line.
