Nick Saban on Alabama RB situation, Keilan Robinson: 'Sometimes these guys are a little short-sighted'
The injury bug has been rough on the Alabama running back room. During his Thursday night radio show, Nick Saban confirmed that Roydell Williams will be out for the rest of the season. The lack of available healthy scholarship running backs has UA training Slade Bolden, Demouy Kennedy and Chrisitian Leary at running back. Saban also used the situation to talk about the transfer portal.
Keilan Robinson’s name was also brought up. The 4-star running back from Washington, D.C. signed in UA’s 2019 class. After two seasons with the Crimson Tide, he transferred to Texas, following Steve Sarkisian. Saban said Robinson would be getting lots of playing time if he were still on the Alabama roster, and made an interesting comment about “short-sighted” transfers.
Saban said Keilan Robinson, who transferred to Texas, would “be playing a lot” had he stayed at UA.
“That’s where sometimes these guys are little short-sighted when they misread sort of what their opportunity really would be if they tried to stay and compete.”

This season with the Longhorns, Robinson has 27 carries for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns.
