The Alabama Crimson Tide will officially kick off the 2020 season against the USC Trojans, with the rematch of the 2016 game also taking place in Dallas at AT&T Stadium.

For college football fans, hopefully the game is a much more competitive affair than the 52-6 beatdown that Alabama put on USC two years ago.

Shortly after the news became official, Alabama coach Nick Saban released a statement, saying he’s excited to face the Trojans again:

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to open another season at the AdvoCare Classic in 2020,” Saban said. “Our team and our fans have always enjoyed playing in North Texas and AT&T Stadium is a fantastic competitive environment. This event has always been a first class with the intensity of a bowl game. We are also pleased to have the chance to once again face USC, and we look forward to a great game.”

USC is a big-name program, so a season-opening win over the Trojans will do a lot for the Tide’s resume.

Alabama AD Greg Byrne released a statement, too, and you can read that below:

“This is another fantastic season-opening matchup that will give our team and our fans a bowl-like experience coming out of the gates,” said Byrne. “We’ve played in some incredible games at AT&T Stadium over the last few years, and we look forward to what will surely be another one in the 2020 AdvoCare Classic.”
