Alabama coach Nick Saban was still at home on Monday for his regular press conference, but he offered an update on his status with the LSU game set for this week.

“I’m feeling fine, so you don’t need to worry about me,” Saban said. “Just to make it clear, I’ll be evaluated by the medical staff later in the week. They’ll make a determination as to when I can come back. But I don’t anticipate any problems being able to coach the game this week.”

Saban missed the Auburn game on Saturday and watched from home following a positive COVID-19 test. He still handled his media responsibilities, including a post-game phone call with CBS Sports and a press conference after the game.

After the win over Auburn, Saban called it “an unusual circumstance for me to be in.”

“To be watching from afar,” Saban said. “To see our team play from a far, win the game. They were excited after the game. They were very happy that they could go out there and do a great job in this game, playing at home.”

Saban also previously praised Steve Sarkisian for taking over some of the gameday head coach duties in his place.

Like the average fan, Saban admitted that he yelled at the TV a couple times when Alabama made mistakes in coverage, or QB Mac Jones missed a throw.
