Nick Saban is known for speaking his mind, and doesn’t have any problem making his opinions and feelings known. That much was even further confirmed by the drama this offseason.

This week, he lightheartedly trolled Stephen A. Smith of First Take, who is returning from a medical procedure. That’s something Saban is familiar with, having undergone hip surgery himself.

“Stephen A., we are all happy to have you back on first take after your surgery and we are pleased that you’re doing well,” Saban said. “But there’s some question about ‘how much time do you need off?’. I had my hip replaced and I was back to work the next day and I realize they don’t make them like they used to and some people just do anything to get a day off. But good luck, and God Bless, my friend.”

Smith took it humorously, calling Saban the best to ever do it.

“He’s the one person in the world I believe,” Smith responded back. “To have hip surgery and be back the next day. The greatest coach in the history of college football as far as I’m concerned. I love that man.”

Saban and his Alabama team are predicted to win the national championship with a quarterback who could win the Heisman Trophy again, so it’s hard to argue against any of Smith’s comments here.
