Brian Robinson Jr. suffered a left leg injury late in the Iron Bowl on Saturday following a 37-yard carry.

Alabama’s leading rusher did not return in the game, and coach Nick Saban updated his status for the SEC Championship Game during a media conference call on Sunday.

Saban said Robinson has a “lower body pulled muscle,” and added, “We’ll see how he progresses.”

Running back is an especially thin position for Alabama as Jase McClellan and Roydell Williams are out. Besides Robinson, Trey Sanders would be the only scholarship back available.

Robinson had 71 rushing yards on 16 carries in the Iron Bowl win, and now has 1,016 on the season.

Sanders had 23 yards on 10 carries in the fourth quarter of the Iron Bowl.
