Alabama fans have probably memorized the sequence of plays that led to the Crimson Tide’s thrilling victory over Georgia.

The possession, which started at UGA’s 25-yard line, began with a 16-yard sack, moving the Tide back to the 41-yard line. QB Tua Tagovailoa was then able to find DeVonta Smith for the game-winning touchdown.

On “The Paul Finebaum Show” Wednesday, it was revealed that Tagovailoa jokingly told Saban he took the sack to give him more room to throw.

“I said to him, ‘That ain’t funny’,” Saban recounted to Paul Finebaum and his guests.

All’s well that ends well, but Tagovailoa probably learned a valuable lesson about joking around with his very serious head coach.
