Comparisons were easy for Emory Jones when he visited Tuscaloosa on Saturday.

Jones, the nation’s No. 1 ranked dual-threat QB in the class of 2018 and the No. 27 overall prospect according to 247Sports Composite, said that one Jalen Hurts has a style that mirrors his own, via AL.com, and new OC Brian Daboll met Jones for the first time.

“He [Daboll] likes that I can run a little bit,” Jones said. “I can throw like a pocket passer and how they had Jalen Hurts last year, I can be kind of similar to that.”

Though Jones is “solid with Ohio State and really strong with them right now,” he seemed to enjoy his time with the Tide; however, Jones made it clear that it wasn’t a personal visit and made it sound like the only reason he visited the Tide was because he “didn’t have a choice.”

“It was a pretty good visit,” Jones said. “It wasn’t a personal visit. My 7-on-7 team went up there (after competing in Birmingham), but I really didn’t have a choice but to go.”

Jones got up close and personal with the coaching staff, as he met both Daboll and Nick Saban for the very first time.

Obviously, Jones seems solid with the Buckeyes, but National Signing Day is a long way away, and Saban and Alabama have a way of wooing top prospects.

The Crimson Tide, however, already have Hurts settled in as the starting QB, and the Tide just signed the No. 1 dual-threat signal caller in Tua Tagovailoa in the 2017 class. Pro-style signal caller Mac Jones signed with Alabama, too, and both freshmen are already on campus competing this spring.

Jones would fit Ohio State’s system perfectly, but you can bet he’ll be keeping his eye on Daboll’s offense this fall.
