Five-star OLB Dylan Moses of Baton Rouge, La., the No. 2 recruit in the country, recently turned heads when he ranked Texas over Alabama in his latest top five schools after previously expressing his desire to commit to the Crimson Tide.

Chris Kirschner of SEC Country caught up Moses in Houston at Nike’s “The Opening” camp to discuss the change in ranking, and the prospect revealed it came after a conversation with Texas coach Charlie Strong:

“It was the best conversation I’ve had with any coach,” Moses said. “It was a better conversation than what I had with Alabama and LSU. The Texas conversation just really grasped my attention and raised my ears.”

In addition to the conversation with Strong, the depth chart situation also played a factor:

“I like Alabama – I’m not going to lie – but at the same time, their need for linebackers and Texas’ need for linebackers are two completely different things,” Moses said.

Moses, an invitee to the camp’s national installment at Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., told Kirschner that his recruitment is far from over and that Alabama can win back the top spot with an impressive 2016 season.
