Alabama LB Mack Wilson has been one of the best linebackers in the country this year, even though he doesn’t have the hardware that he’d like.

However, he is frequently projected as a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, so he’ll have a big decision to make when the College Football Playoff is over.

It may already be made, though, as the Montgomery Advertiser reports that Wilson’s mother, Sandra Wilson, said her son will be on the field in Tuscaloosa in 2019:

“His plan is to return for his senior year because he said he has unfinished business,” Sandra Wilson told the Advertiser on Monday afternoon, “meaning he did not get the award that he was aiming to get, so he said he’s going to focus on his degree as well as the award he’s trying to get his senior year.

“My baby, you know, he told me that he wasn’t ready. He wasn’t ready to go to the next level yet because I guess there’s certain goals that he’s set that he’s trying to accomplish. So he’s going to try to get those his senior year.”

First-round NFL Draft money is tough to pass up, though, so we’ll see what Wilson’s final decision ends up being.

If he gets a great first-round grade, even Nick Saban will likely tell Wilson to head to the pros, but we’ll see how the next few weeks play out.
