Senior Day at Alabama was different this year in more ways than one.

But one of them was coach Nick Saban was not in the stadium because of his positive COVID-19 case, and therefore, the players and their families couldn’t take in the traditional pre-game pictures and well wishes.

Saban shared a video message with the seniors before the game and noted how much he appreciated the players.

“I just wanted to be here today to send my gratitude and appreciation for this senior class,” Saban said. “Each one of these individuals have represented the University of Alabama and the football program in a first-class way. Their 45 wins, SEC championship, national championship signify their accomplishments on the field, but their leadership and example have impacted so many people in a positive way to help us be successful.”

Several of the players had a hand in building a big lead over Auburn in their final Iron Bowl. By late in the third quarter, it was 35-6.

There are still several big games remaining this season, so Saban and those seniors have plenty of opportunities to write more memories.
