Paul Finebaum discusses Alabama's biggest concern down the stretch
Heading into a well-deserved bye week, the Alabama Crimson Tide are 8-0 and hold the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll.
The Crimson Tide have been dominating SEC opponents in every aspect of the game, but that doesn’t mean coach Nick Saban thinks his team is perfect.
In fact, according to ESPN host Paul Finebaum, Saban is actually quite concerned about Alabama’s defensive depth this season.
Finebaum said on “The Opening Drive” on Monday morning that Saban is worried about that unit ahead of a tough stretch of games that include LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn:
.@finebaum: "Talked to Saban Saturday morning. There is concern about depth on defense when Alabama faces the gauntlet down the stretch."

Still, Finebaum acknowledged that the Tide have one of the best defenses in the country, but added that they aren’t judged against other teams:
.@finebaum: "The problem for Alabama is they are judged against perfection. Everyone else is judged against Alabama."

Alabama will host a much-improved LSU team after the bye week before traveling to Mississippi State. Then, this year’s Iron Bowl will be played at Auburn.
That’s not an easy stretch, but if any team is built to handle it, it’s Alabama — lack of defensive depth and all.
