ArDarius Stewart is a New York Jet now, but the former Alabama wide receiver hasn’t forgotten about Fultondale High School.

Stewart stopped by his old high school this week to donate $15,000 worth of new helmets, the Schutt F-7 and Z10 helmets. The F-7 helmets are considered some of the safest helmets for football at any level, and will likely be worn by Fultondale running backs and linebackers according to coach Richie Busby.

“I’m a physical player, so the helmet is the most important part of the game,” Stewart told AL.com. “So I had to make sure these guys were set. They’re very protected now, with these helmets. I expect to see a lot of physicality, and a lot of hitting.

“I’m challenging these guys to come out this year and show me something different.”

The new helmets already have the approval of Fultondale LB Ja’Len Sims.

“I like the helmet,” he said. “It was amazing. I didn’t expect it to look like that.”
