It’s beginning to sound like the buzz around Kyler Murray has cooled. If so, that would be good news for Alabama’s Quinnen Williams.

The Arizona Cardinals own the top pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft and while many believe that spot is reserved for the former Sooner quarterback, that may not be the case. If CBS NFL insider Pete Prisco is sharing reliable information, Williams is about to beat Murray for the second time in less than a year.

During a recent appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show,” Prisco was asked to share what he’s hearing the Cardinals are likely to do with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. While many have suspected Arizona was leaning toward taking the reigning Heisman Trophy winner from Oklahoma, Prisco says the Cardinals have narrowed their options down to 50/50 between two defensive linemen.

“From what I’ve been told, it will either be Quinnen Williams or Nick Bosa, and I think they are leaning more toward Nick Bosa,” Prisco said on the show.

Even if Williams isn’t the pick at No. 1 overall, the owners of the next two slots (San Francisco at No. 2 and New York Jets at No. 3) are unlikely to select a quarterback. That would suggest the outstanding lineman from Alabama won’t be on the board much longer than No. 1 if Arizona does decide to go with Bosa with the first overall selection in the draft.
