It is difficult to identify clearly, and ESPN’s Rece Davis spoke to the hesitancy of pointing to a specific team, but finding an obvious threat to Alabama in the SEC West is difficult.

Davis went through the process with “McElroy and Cubelic In the Morning,” on WJOX and struggled to pinpoint a program definitively.

“It’s a tough one, I don’t know that I really see one, I guess it’s A&M but then you say that, there’s no quarterback, at least not yet,” Davis said. “There may be a great quarterback, but there’s not one that we’ve seen play. LSU is talented, but you don’t know if the ship has been righted there. I guess if I had to pick one, I would probably say (Texas) A&M. I know Ole Miss can be dangerous, and I’m doing their game on Labor Day night. But I’m just not quite ready to go there yet with their defense even though (Matt) Corral is the most proven quarterback in the SEC. I would have to lean A&M I guess because of the roster, but it’s really hard to find anyone that you truly believe is on Alabama’s level. Doesn’t mean they can’t upset them, but in terms of being better over the course of the season, I just don’t see anybody.”

Looks like according to Davis, the Aggies’ QB on Oct. 9 at Kyle Field will go a long way to answering this question.
