Alabama offensive line/tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator Mario Cristobal has an offer on the table as a senior staff member on Willie Taggart’s new staff at Oregon, reports FootballScoop.com.

The report also says Florida coach Jim McElwain is also considering Cristobal as an option should Mike Summers leave the program in the coming days but also points out Cristobal could stay in Tuscaloosa, as well. Considering his importance to the Tide’s program, Nick Saban will likely do what he can to keep Cristobal on his staff.

Cristobal has served as one of the most important assistant coaches on Saban’s staff over the last four years, having been named National Recruiter of the Year in 2015 and was named a finalist for the FootballScoop Offensive Line Coach of the Year last month.

Last season, the Crimson Tide’s offensive line was the recipient for the Joe Moore Award, which goes to the best unit in the nation.

Cristobal is expected to make a decision not too long after Monday’s national championship game against Clemson. He’s wrapping up Year 1 of his much deserved, two-year, $525,000 contract that was awarded as a raise this past offseason.
