With National Signing Day coming up on Wednesday, the Alabama Crimson Tide needed to get a defensive coordinator in place.

After losing Jeremy Pruitt to Tennessee, the Tide had yet to announce a new coordinator, but now it appears they’ve made their decision.

According to AL.com reporter Matt Zenitz, linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi will be promoted to defensive coordinator for the 2018 season:

This isn’t a surprising move, as Lupoi has been a solid recruiter for the Tide and has been at Alabama since 2014.

He’ll have plenty of talent to work with on the defensive side of the ball, as Alabama has several highly rated players waiting to take over for those who are leaving for the NFL.
