Imagine working your entire life for a moment, only to have it end in a way you never dreamed.

That’s exactly what happened to former Alabama wide receiver Cam Sims on Sunday, at least for this season.

The Washington Redskins signed Sims as an undrafted free agent following the NFL Draft. Sims had a huge preseason for Washington and eventually made the roster. Sunday, he found himself on special teams during the Redskins first kickoff of the season.

However, it came crashing down when he suffered a high ankle sprain on the first play and may now need surgery according to Matt Zenitz of Al.com.

Sims spent four years in Tuscaloosa with the Crimson Tide. His best season came as a senior when he caught 14 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown.

The amazing thing about Sims is even though he had a quiet college career, he’s made noise in the NFL (so far). Let’s just hope this injury won’t derail his hopes.
