Report: Lane Kiffin lures Alabama defensive assistant Wes Neighbors to FAU
After years of experience in Tuscaloosa, both as a player and as an assistant coach, Alabama native Wes Neighbors is reportedly reuniting with Lane Kiffin down at FAU.
The Neighbors name should be a familiar one to Tide fans, he’s a third generation Alabama player and played defensive back for the Crimson Tide from 2008-2012. He’s originally from Huntsville, Ala.
News of Neighbors departure was first reported by Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated.

This isn’t the first time Kiffin has hired an Alabama assistant to join him in Boca Raton. Last offseason, Kiffin hired Alabama assistant strength coach Wilson Love from Nick Saban’s staff to lead the FAU strength and conditioning department.
