Alabama freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts is having a fantastic inaugural campaign.

Not only has he led the No. 1 Crimson Tide to a perfect record, but Hurts has also galvanized the offense with his ability to run.

Demonstrating a maturity beyond his years, Hurts has proven capable of delivering the ball downfield — whilst also evading pressure with his legs.

CFB film room recently tweeted out two fascinating statistics pertaining to Hurts in 2016:

The statistics show Hurts struggling versus pressure when in the pocket. Dually, he’s had a lack of success versus ranked teams when under siege.

Now, Alabama is still undefeated. The offensive line has done a magnificent job of protecting the Texas native. Additionally, Hurts is still a true freshman. Opposing defensive coordinators will be doing everything they can to make the young quarterback uncomfortable.

While these two stats may be a bit misleading, it could offer a blueprint for being competitive with Nick Saban’s team.
