To say Brock Purdy has put up some impressive passing numbers would be a bit of an understatement. The reigning Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year has thrown for 99 touchdowns and over 7,700 yards in the final two seasons of his high school career.

In one high school game, Purdy threw for 640 yards and eight touchdowns — in three quarters of action. In another contest, he tossed seven touchdowns and had over 550 yards passing.

Thanks to those impressive stats, Purdy now has the attention of the Alabama coaching staff.

Rated as only a three-star by 247Sports Composite Rankings, the 6-foot-1, 197-pound Arizona native may be a late addition to the Tide’s 2018 recruiting gameplan but getting in late is better than not getting involved at all. Something Alabama knows from experience with running back Josh Jacobs, who found himself on the Tide’s radar late during his recruitment process.

Purdy may find himself in a similar position, as he’s scheduled to take an official visit to Tuscaloosa on Jan. 26. Tuesday, Purdy announced he had received an offer from the Alabama coaching staff.

Considering the Tide don’t currently have a quarterback committed in the 2018 class, Purdy may quickly become the program’s top target at the position in this cycle. To get an idea of his arm talent, check out this brief highlight film on the Arizona native.
