Tua Tagovailoa, 6 weeks later, finally pays off national championship bet
Tua Tagovailoa proved to be a man of his word even though it took 6 weeks to pay off a bet.
The Miami Dolphins quarterback, and former Alabama star, made a national championship game bet with Anne Noland, the Miami Dolphins Senior Director of Football Communications, who is a proud Georgia graduate.
And it turns out, their college rivalry goes back to at least December when they discussed Alabama and Georgia during a press conference.
It took 6 whole weeks of waiting, but @Tua remains a man of his word (despite significant eye rolling), finally taking his National Championship loss in stride today.

Looks like @annenoland got the last laugh. She had a quiet confidence about her Georgia Bulldogs after the Bama Dolphins gave her a hard time following the SEC Championship Game. https://t.co/KDQmQkEi6n

Tagovailoa has had a volatile start to his NFL career with a losing streak and winning streak last season with the Dolphins on top of his name being floated in trade rumors, most notably with the Houston Texans for Deshaun Watson. He has also dealt with finger and rib injuries, but former coach Brian Flores has recently said that he had a strong relationship with Tagovailoa.
