Tua Tagovailoa was the center of a scary scene Thursday night when he was carted off the field at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati after he was slammed to the turf by Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman Josh Tupou.

The Miami Dolphins quarterback was released from the hospital later Thursday night and flew home with the team. On Friday he released a statement from his Twitter account.

It’s good to hear something from Tagovailoa, but his statement will not shield the Dolphins from a ton of scrutiny by those that believe he shouldn’t have been playing Thursday. Tagovailoa was officially on the injury report with a back injury, but many wondered if his suffered a concussion after the quarterback took a hit Sunday afternoon against the Buffalo Bills that appeared to leave him disoriented.

There is still no official diagnosis on Tagovailoa’s injury is and no timetable for how long he might be out.
