Media Days aren’t exactly a place where coaches go to answer hard-hitting questions, but there are still some questions that are just ridiculous.

On Tuesday at MAC Media Days, Detroit Free Press reporter George Stoia III spent the whole day asking players if they want to play Alabama.

As college football fans know, it is common when teams win big games to have their fans start chanting “We want Bama!” but it hasn’t worked out well for many squads since 2007. Still, if you’re going to take a college football field at any level, you’d better believe you can compete against the best.

So, we’re not sure what Stoia was expecting, but the answers below are pretty predictable:

Considering that Alabama has only played a current MAC team twice since Nick Saban took over in 2007, playing Kent State both times and winning by a combined score of 96-7, the honest answer should probably be “no, we don’t want Bama.”

There are no MAC teams on Alabama’s 2018 schedule. They play Kent State in 2020 and Central Michigan in 2023.

What a strange question to ask every player.
