One player who had a busy post-game schedule was Alabama hero QB Jalen Hurts, who rescued the Crimson Tide from a touchdown deficit to beat Georgia 35-28 in the SEC Championship.

But some 30 minutes after the game, Hurts walked back on the field in Atlanta to a young fan waiting for him. Hurts handed him an Alabama towel.

“Thank you,” the fan said. “Great game.”

It’s moments like these that come out of the spotlight that reveal the kind of people star players are, especially with young fans. Hurts obviously didn’t have to do this, and it speaks to why Hurts remains a popular figure with the Alabama fan base, even though he was the backup quarterback this season.

Coach Nick Saban spoke about Hurts’ character after the game, and how he supported teammates. But it was that same kind of humble behavior that was shared with the young fan, and served as an example for others.
