In today’s NFL, you aren’t going to see as many bone-crunching hits from safeties over the middle of the field.

However, that doesn’t mean safeties can’t make a major impact, and former Alabama S Ronnie Harrison showed that on Saturday in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ second preseason game.

Against the Minnesota Vikings, Harrison — a third-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft — came up and knocked the ball away from RB Latavius Murray following a long run:

Harrison was playing with the first-team defense, and appears to be in line to earn a starting spot when the regular season gets underway next month.

By not focusing so much on huge hits, which are more than likely going to be flagged this season, safeties can go for the ball more, and Harrison proved on Saturday he has a knack for knocking the ball loose.
