The Alabama Crimson Tide always have to navigate a tough SEC schedule, but in recent years, people have raised questions about some of the Tide’s non-conference foes.

On Wednesday, FOX Sports announcer Tim Brando went off on the Tide, criticizing them for another weak non-conference slate of games.

As you can see in the video below, Brando calls the schedule “pathetic” and says no one is talking about it:

“No one talks about how easy Alabama has it, but that is one pathetic schedule they’re trotting out there,” Brando says. “They’re saying hello to The Citadel — ooh la la — and Arkansas State in non-conference play. You’ve got to be kidding me. And no one, I repeat, no one — I didn’t see anything about that in ‘Roll Tide’ on ESPN the other night. I didn’t see anything about that really tough schedule he’s preparing the guys for, but it’s out there.”

Of course, Brando isn’t the only one complaining about Alabama’s schedule, despite his insistence that he is. In fact, one of his FOX co-workers, Joel Klatt, said the same thing recently.

It’s not Alabama’s fault that Florida State fell apart after Week 1 last year, and it’s not Alabama’s fault that Louisville just lost superstar QB Lamar Jackson. The Tide are trying for some marquee non-conference games, but the other teams haven’t held up their part of the bargain to date.

But Brando does have a point about The Citadel…
