WATCH: Tua Tagovailoa back on the field for Alabama following thumb injury
Last week, Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa injured the thumb on his throwing hand, casting doubt on when he’d be able to return to the field to resume the quarterback battle he has going with Jalen Hurts.
However, it doesn’t appear the injury was too serious, as he’s already back on the field participating in passing drills.
As you can see in the video below, shared by @AByingtonTD on Twitter, Tagovailoa was spotted throwing during Tuesday’s practice session:

That’s obviously good news for the Tide, as coaches will want to get long looks at both Tagovailoa and Hurts this spring.
The competition will likely carry over into the summer, but it’s still nice to see the rising sophomore trying to put the thumb ailment behind him.
