In the (first-half) upset of the century, The Citadel is tied with Alabama heading into halftime, 10-10.

Here’s what Saban had to say heading into halftime:

“Well, they are shrinking the game on us. They are three and four yarding us to death,” Saban said to ESPN college football sideline reporter Dawn Davenport. “We gave up one big play because we busted on the option. We have got to do a better job on offense. We have to take advantage of every possession when a team is shrinking the game on you. We’ve turned the ball over, we went three and out once. We didn’t score a touchdown in the red zone. That’s the difference in the game and the key to it. We have to play them well on defense.”

The Citadel has no passing yards at halftime but has hit Alabama for 149 rushing yards utilizing the triple option in the game. The Citadel attempted to pass the ball at one point in the game but was sacked before getting the ball off; they did not have a single passing attempt during the first half. The Tide have 209 yards of total offense, 144 passing and only 65 rushing in the game at half.

The Citadel has controlled the clock, holding the ball for 19:14 of the first half, while the Tide have only had it for 10:46. Tua Tagovailoa is eight of 12 passing in the game for 144 yards and a score.

Here’s a look at The Citadel’s touchdown play, which came on a 45-yard run by running back Dante Smith.
