Will Anderson predicts epic performance for Alabama's pass-rush in 2022, discusses daily goal vs. Bryce Young
Just how special can Alabama’s pass-rush be in 2022? At least one player is predicting what could be a legendary performance this fall.
Will Anderson had a season for the ages in 2021. The sophomore finished the season with 101 tackles and a mind-boggling 31 TFL and 17.5 sacks for the Tide. He had multiple sacks in 4 games and 4 sacks in the win vs. Mississippi State.
Following Saturday’s A-Day action, Anderson discussed what he sees from this year’s defense. He admitted that he hears a lot of talk about Alabama’s pass-rush from 2016, but he believes this year’s team will be comparable.
Will Anderson said he hears a lot about Alabama’s 2016 pass rush. He said you could expect to see something like that this fall.

That 2016 squad was anchored by defensive lineman Jonathan Allen and a host of talented linebackers in Tim Williams, Ryan Anderson, Reuben Foster and Rashaan Evans, among others. Allen led the way with 10.5 sacks with Williams registering 9 and Anderson finishing with 8.5. That 2016 team also made it to the CFP National Championship before losing to Clemson.
Anderson also admitted that one of his daily goals is trying to find ways to make QB Bryce Young mad in practice. Unfortunately, Anderson says he fails to get under Young’s skin.
Will Anderson: “When I go into practice, that’s one of my biggest goals, how can I make Bryce mad? And it never works.”
