It could be some time before Will Reichard returns to the field for Alabama. That’s according to his mother, at least.

The freshman placekicker and high school All-American arrived in Tuscaloosa with a ton of hype, leaving Alabama fans to believe he could finally correct the program’s kicking woes but instead, Reichard has converted only four of his seven attempts thus far in his college career and was injured in the first quarter Saturday against Southern Miss.

Following a short kickoff, Reichard went back to the locker room and did not play the rest of the game. In a recent FaceBook post, Reichard’s mother claims the freshman strained his quad on Saturday.

The Hoover, Ala., native was rated as the nation’s No. 1 kicker in the 2019 recruiting cycle.
